“Once again in 2025 the City of Torino and the Metropolitan City have chosen to support the “International Chamber Music Competition – Città di Pinerolo e Torino Città Metropolitana”. This music competition is a unique format in Italy and is recognised at an international level by the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva. For Torino this is an important and prestigious event that continues to highlight the synergies and the potential of our city’s offer of classical music. Through this competition, the City of Torino and the Metropolitan City are enthusiastic and wholehearted in offering our support to the Fondazione Accademia di Pinerolo, a support aimed at encouraging talented young people working in the world of music, and at fostering the access to and the enjoyment of music for all our citizens. The City is again proud to provide the venue for the final round of the competition and the prize giving ceremony, the splendid “Giuseppe Verdi” auditorium at the Conservatory of Torino. This hall will offer both musicians and audience an unforgettable experience, since it is steeped in culture and history and is undisputedly the beating heart of classical music in Torino.”
“Welcome to Pinerolo, where music unites the world. Thanks to the Accademia di Musica of Pinerolo and its International Chamber Music Competition, our city, small though it may be, is transformed into an international meeting point for musical talent, passion and culture. With a yearly enrollment of 600 students, coming from all regions of Italy and from many other countries, over thirty years the Accademia has built a reputation for absolute excellence. This has been achieved thanks to 60 renowned teachers and the high quality of the teaching methods used to train musicians from all over the world. Today, Pinerolo is recognised as a reference point for advanced music training, providing a space where talented young musicians can grow, be inspired and find their own voice. The International Chamber Music Competition is the culmination of this vision: music as a universal language, a bridge between cultures, with concepts like “together” and “harmony” embedded right in its terminology, reminding us that only by working together can we create something that is important and meaningful.
So our heartfelt thanks go to the Accademia di Musica for its admirable work and for this event, where the beauty of art is combined with the pleasure of meeting the world. May music continue to unite us all.
”
“It all began 30 years ago, on October 14, 1994 in Pinerolo, when we launched an event that we later named Autumn Music Festival, which comprised a wide range of cultural activities, including an international music competition called Concorso Internazionale di Musica “Pinerolo, Città della Cavalleria”. Now this year’s competition will be our 18th and we have passed so many milestones along the way. The Accademia di Musica is today one of the leading centres for advanced music training in Italy and has become a Third Sector Foundation, marking a further crucial stage in a process of continual growth that has seen us become one of the most prestigious schools of advanced music education. The merit for this achievement lies with our training offer, aimed specifically at preparing young musicians for their future profession (taught by our staff of over 60 internationally famous teachers to around 650 students enrolled each year), as well as with our varied and acclaimed programme of concerts. The International Competition has grown with our Accademia: it is now open to ensembles ranging from duos to sextets, and its importance as a cultural event has been validated by the fact that it is now staged in synergy by two cities, Pinerolo and Torino, and has been renamed the International Chamber Music Competition “Pinerolo e Torino Città metropolitana”. It has also become a member of the Fédération Mondiale Concours Internationaux de Musique of Geneva. It now remains only for us to give the stage to our renowned jury of internationally famous musicians, and to extend our best wishes to all the competitors admitted to the live finals, who are among the best musicians (under 33) on the world music scene today. “
“The Regione Piemonte government has always been in the forefront when it comes to supporting
art and culture, as they are a stimulus to community growth and to the development of our region.
What makes the ICM a truly special event is that it is based on the shared conviction that young
people are not only the future, but are already our present: they are bringing the new energy, the
innovative ideas and passionate commitment that enrich the cultural life of Piedmont.
When we invest in the new generations, not only do we offer them the opportunity to make their
names known and to develop professionally, but we also acknowledge the key role they play in
every sector. Culture, and music in particular, is actually a universal language that can break down
barriers, unite individuals, and build bridges between different peoples. Through music, young
people can learn to work together, to create dialogue and to build relationships, thus combatting
the social isolation that, unfortunately, is still a serious problem for our society. As the regional
government we are enthusiastic about this event, given that it has such a high profile, involves all
age groups and every year attracts talented musicians from all over the world, consequently
focusing attention on our region Piedmont.
We will continue in our commitment to nurturing and actively promoting our heritage of culture and
art, since we are absolutely certain that when we invest in culture and young people, we are
investing directly in the wellbeing and future of all citizens.”
